Aidy Bryant had a fantastic day on Tuesday.
Aidy Bryant was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards: best lead actress in a comedy series for her work on “Shrill,” a Hulu show she co-created, and best supporting actress in a comedy series for her work on “Saturday Night Live.”
Bryant shared her excitement on Instagram:
Bryant received her third and fourth nominations, with the “Shrill” nod being her first not related to her work on “Saturday Night Live.” She shared a 2014 nomination for outstanding original music and lyrics and a 2018 nomination for best-supporting actress in a comedy series for her work on “Saturday Night Live.”
Bryant plays Annie Easton, a Portland writer who is trying to figure out who she is in all facets of her life in “Shrill.” For a comedy, it’s refreshingly candid and very amusing.
The three-season show came to an end in May.
