Christian Siriano is one of those designers whose collections you anticipate with bated breath. You know it is going to be something beautiful, innovative and surprisingly accessible. From his high end offerings on his website to his shoes available at Payless, Christian proves that fashion is truly for everyone.
On May 9th, Siriano once again made the point that not only is fashion for everyone but it is for EVERYBODY. On the terrace of the United Nations in New York, The Christian Siriano Capsule collection for Lane Bryant kicked off an amazing day of discussion about diversity and inclusion in fashion. Lane Bryant has been leading the charge with campaigns like “I’m No Angel,” “Plus Is Equal” and their most progressive campaign to date “This Body is Made For……” which lets each wearer fill in the blank.
Live and in full color Siriano brought body diversity to the runway showcasing a variety of sizes and body types. Here are some of my favorites:
Danielle Brooks of “Orange is the New Black” fame and fresh off her Tony Award nominated performance on Broadway in “The Color Purple,” Danielle seemed to float as she graced the runway.
That melanin, that color, pure perfection!! For more of these amazing pieces check out Lane Bryant’s website.
P.S. After a two-year hiatus, Lane Bryant will return to Full Figured Fashion Week for the first time since 2013 with a presence at the 2nd Annual Celebrate My Size Expo and first-ever Legends Showcase. If you’re going to FFFWeek, make sure you engage with the Lane Bryant team.
