Plus Size Fashion: Should You Wear White After Labor Day?

How To Wear White After Labor Day.

For as long as we can remember, we’ve been told not to wear white after Labor Day, but white can be purchased all year long. If retailers can sell white after the last summer holiday of the year, why can’t we buy the crisp color?

With Labor Day right around the corner, we encourage you to take a risk and wear white after the September holiday.

Keep reading as we explain four ways that you can white during the fall and winter months and check out four of our celebrities if you need a little inspiration.

Blazer

Wearing a crisp, white plus size blazer in the fall or winter is totally acceptable. Turn it into a must-have for fall by pairing with colors like black, grays or denim for a flawless fall outfit. For this look, Melissa McCarthy paired her white blazer with an all-black look.

Tops

Plus size tops can definitely be worn in the fall, in fact, they can be worn during any season. Like the white blazer, the white top can be paired with colors that work well during cooler seasons. Take a cue from Retta and pair your white top with black slacks for a cool look that will keep you warm.

Dresses

Although this one is up for debate, I think rules are made to be broken, so why not wear a white plus size maxi dress during fall and/or winter. Follow Danielle’s lead and add a thin belt to your look. Take the look a step further by swapping those sandals out for a pair of boots.

Pants

Wearing white plus size pants after Labor Day can be achieved as long as you pick the right fabric for the season. In lieu of wearing thinner fabrics, give white denim a try. To make sure the look is fall ready, add a pair of ankle boots to your look. Throw on a fashion-forward top like Octavia Spencer and you can wear white pants all year long.
