When it comes to runway modeling, the walk means everything. With New York Fashion Week upon this, we’re bound to see images and video footage of models with fierce walks modeling clothing for straight size designers this week.  Although we love to see the models strut their stuff on the runway, it would be even sweeter to see more plus size models featured during the popular fashion event.

Last year, plus size model Denise Bidot made history as one of the first plus size models to walk for straight size designers when she modeled for CHROMAT and the Serena Williams’ HSN line during NYFW.  That’s one heck of an accomplishment.  But, why not go a step further and inject a number of plus size models throughout NYFW?  The result would be inspiring, controversial and empowering at the same time.

Here are 5 plus size models that we would love to see join Denise Bidot on the runway during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
