Photographer Kenneth Willardt Features Model Robyn Lawley And Black Cats In ‘The Beauty Book’
When I think of beauty, nudity accompanied by black cats, furry bunnies or spiders aren’t the first images that come to mind, but in photographer Kenneth Willardt’s world, beauty is defined as all of those things and more.
In his new coffee table book, The Beauty Book, the Danish born photographer brings lifelike GIF images to life in the most raw, glamorous and beautiful ways possible with the help of a free downloadable app available on iTunes and android stores.
The Beauty Book is described as a book about timeless beauty, nudity and celebrities and it features dynamic and alluring images that allow each model’s distinctive personality to shine.
Celebrities featured in the book include Robyn Lawley, Lara Stone, and Lady Gaga, among others. As for Lawley, this isn’t Willardt’s first time working with the 6 ft 2 in model. Last year, Lawley was featured in Willardt’s Size Matters exhibit displayed in New York from November to December 2013. The exhibit showcased Lawley photographed nude with various animals, including rabbits, an owl, an octopus and tarantulas.
When asked about including plus size models in his book, Willardt replied:
That’s how it should be. You can’t just get these skinny girls. That’s not how the world looks. Someone like Robyn [Lawley] is a real woman. That’s what’s sexy. And I think if you put that image out there, people will be happier and more comfortable with themselves, and the media will slowly turn a bit in that direction. When I did the show [Size Does Matter], it was very successful. I think if it had been a skinny girl, there wouldn’t have been the same reaction. People really embraced Size Does Matter, but the city didn’t.
