This month we’re catching up with four of of our former cover models.  The first cover model that we’re featuring is Sunni Russell.  Sunni graced our cover in February 2010, then again in January 2013.  In this interview we get to catch up with Sunni as she shares some great tips for anyone who has dreams of being a future cover model.

What drew you to plus size modeling?

I have been into fashion ever since I was a toddler. It’s just a part of me. My mother did some modeling and pageants and I wanted to follow in her footsteps. After I uploaded a few snap shots to a modeling website, I was encouraged to audition for a local modeling competition about 10 years ago, I came in second place, and things took off from there. I’ve been modeling ever since.

Can you describe your modeling path since appearing on our cover. What are you currently doing?

I have continued to work for local designers/boutiques in the Baltimore/DC area and participated in fashion shows such as Plus Night Out and Curvy Closets. Right now I am just taking opportunities as they come and will possibly start my own projects in the near future.
