Plus Size Fashion News: Rent The Runway Goes Plus
Rent The Runway (RTR) may be late but they’re ready to play in the sandbox with plus size shoppers.
The membership based website known for renting high end designer apparel has made the very wise decision to add plus size fashion to their inventory.
“We’ve been getting a lot of requests to expand our size range, and now we can do it with top designers,” said Jennifer Fleiss, the company’s co-founder and head of business development.
Rent The Runway first plus size collection includes evening gowns and cocktail dresses for curvier women.
Since 2009, Rent the Runway has been renting out designer dresses from top designers. Although they added accessories (which can be worn by all men), they kept receiving requests to add larger sizes to their inventory.
RTR’s plus size collection includes over 30 dresses available in sizes 14 to 22 from designers such as Badgley Mischka, Adrianna Papell, Kay Unger and Carmen Marc Valvo.
