We love to see women celebrating who they are and their curves. We started the Curvy Educator spotlight to highlight those that not only love who they are but love what they do. They continue to inspire and uplift a new generation. Teachers are such an important part in the development of who we become, so we salute you and thank you for your submissions.
This is our last and final Curvy Educator Spotlight. This one came from Danita Gregory-Puryear. She’s a mother of 3 and a Preschool Educator in New Jersey. Here’s her submission:
I love teaching PreSchool because it lays the foundation for academic learning. It also helps young children develop positive and healthy social/emotional relationships with people that they interact with on a daily basis.
My students are 3-5 years old and every day is a great experience. Teaching can be challenging at times, but I would not change all of the hugs, “I love you’s”, pouty attitudes, tears, and “I want to be a teacher like you” throughout my 16 years of teaching. Teaching has also helped me become a better parent to my children.
Teaching is not an easy job but teaching does have its rewards. I am dedicated to giving the best of myself every day so that my students receive the best education that they deserve. I love teaching and I love all of my fellow educators near and far that also are dedicated to giving the best to the students, families, and communities in which they serve.
Danita, we loved your positive attitude and the fact that you not only have children of your own but you’re dedicated to helping the children of others. We also loved how you worked your curves in your picture. You are truly what we were looking for in our call for Curvy Educators.
Ladies (Danita, Terrona, Miranda, and Travia), you all are fabulous and inspiring continue to do so! Thanks so much for sharing and thriving in your curves.
