Plus Size Models Share Their Thoughts On Walking In New York Fashion Week
A week ago plus size designer Eden Miller made history. Her collection Cabiria made history as the first plus size collection to be featured during New York Fashion Week.
During her showing, Eden presented her spring 2014 collection filled with bold prints, colorful dresses and maxi silhouettes. Miller was one of six handpicked designers chosen to participate as part of the Fashion Law Institute presentation at Lincoln Center.
Bringing her collection to life were a handful of plus size models.
Plus size models Victoria Lee and Frances Cordova were recently by Yahoo Shine about their experience. When asked how they felt upon entering the tents, they replied:
It was an out of body experience. Knowing that you are about to make history is amazing. ~Victoria Lee
Right before the beginning of the show someone reminded us that we were making history. That’s when it actually hit me. The fact that we were the first plus size women at the MBFW tent show is so exciting. I’m hoping that more plus size designers will get the same opportunity sooner than later. ~Frances Cordova
