Here at Daily Venus Diva we love not only celebrating our curves but celebrating each and every one of you. Last month, we asked for submissions for curvy educators. We wanted to celebrate those that are doing their part in educating our future. Teachers are such an important part in the development of who we become, so we salute you and thank you for your submissions.
Here’s our first featured Curvy Educator. Tiffany Smith of So Plush Modeling nominated Terrona Armour, her sister!
My sister, Terrona Armour, is the definition of Curvy Educator! Ever since we were kids she has wanted to be a teacher. She used to make me play school before I was old enough to attend school! Terrona did not let life’s struggles stop her from becoming a teacher in the mist of pursuing her education degree she got married, started a family and overcame health struggles. She worked through school as a preschool teacher to high risk underprivileged children. Terrona now holds a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Detroit Michigan and is a first grade teacher to high risk underprivileged children, because to my sister everyone deserves an equal opportunity for a great education. Thank you for considering my sister for Curvy Educator.
Here is what Terrona Armour said about being an educator:
Not only am I a curvy educator, but I show my students that everyone is different and for that purpose, each of us are special. My students are confident. One those days where it may be lacking, I remind them to look around our classroom, look at me, look at other teachers, and then have them look at themselves and name one thing they love about themselves. School begins next week and I can’t wait to meet my new babies and become a part of each others lives. I learn from them just as much as they learn from me. They remind me that they are watching and to keep my head held high and show confidence on those days when even I am not feeling my best.
Thank you Tiffany for honoring your sister in such a big way!
Terrona, you definitely embody what we were looking for when we asked for Curvy Educators. Continue doing a great job with your students and inspiring the rest of us!
