I recently encountered a brand new collection set to launch on the shores of America in a few months. Imagine my surprise as I was scouring the aisles of the Javits Center at the MODA expo this past February looking to see what new additions to the plus size lines were available. Lo and behold I ran into Judy Collier, the Director of Sales at Buur Fashion based in the Netherlands and Canada. She introduced me to her showroom rep for this new plus line X-Two, Eddie Penn, of Penn Centrall located on West 38th Street in the garment center in my homebase of NYC. Eddie told me the Winter Collection was due to arrive the next week and he sent me an email inviting me to stop by. What can I say? I love this line! Just as I was starting to feel upset that Eloquii had decided to discontinue it’s plus line for the Limited. It made me realize that I didn’t need to feel bad because of Eloquii’s exit from the full figure world. I had high hopes for the Limited division, but when I shopped their website, time and again, although consistent and cleanly presented, it was merely a mish mash of lots of “items” that were akin to separates that could be incorporated into an existing wardrobe. One of the reasons Eloquii failed was because they didn’t advertise enough and because their overall look was not that “special” and similar garments were available on many other plus size websites already out there.
Not so with X-Two!! It is a whole carefully coordinated look with at least eight pieces for each story (collection segment)….the trend colors are all there, the trend silhouettes are all there and they all work back beautifully with each other. The details are incredibly interesting and the fabrics are a calculated mix of textures that left me applauding….the pieces all look well-thought out and designed.. the line has an almost Elena Miro feel to it (Italian), but more contemporary and casually and stylishly sporty. …There were at least seven collections, with coats that I was drooling over… here’s a sneak peek, more to come as I figure out how to assist X-Two’s PR Department to help “get the word out”….stay tuned for more launch developments. I have big plans for this line!!!
