A few months ago, I’m Possible Curves Entertainment of Charlotte, NC held the first Miss Curvy 2012 Pageant. Leah McPherson was crowned the 1st Miss Curvy. According to Ena Bowens and Marlena Evans the co-owners of I’m Possible Curves Leah brought “it” from the beginning and was a cut above the rest.
The Miss Curvy 2012 Pageant was a beauty contest for full figured women sizes 12 and up and was held at the Ultra Lounge in Charlotte. The contestants were judged on both inner and outer beauty and they even performed a dance routine.
Leah’s winning platform is for Health and Wellness through education and living a healthy lifestyle. She’s also pushing for education on diabetes as well. Leah believes that it’s not about losing weight to be thin but about being a healthy and confident you. Leah’s quest for the crown was sparked by a coworker’s invitation to a fashion show. This outgoing, 30 year old Bank of America Systems Analyst says she’s now very interested in participating in more pageants. As reigning Miss Curvy she will be taking part of Team Curvy events and will even be in the Martin Luther King, Jr parade in Charlotte 2013! This reigning queen is a lover of shopping, fashion and modeling but also has great advice for those thinking of doing pageants.
Be yourself, don’t be fake be confident. Find that one thing about yourself that you like and bring it out. Everything else will fall into place.
I’m Possible Curves plans on continuing to have this pageant annually then eventually branching out nationally. They also will have Model Calls and Team Curvy Health and Fitness events.
